I like the watch for the most part. The only semi-negative comment I would have to make is that the face of the watch is much larger than I expected it to be. I know it was described as larger, but I wasn't prepared for how large it really is. Good watch for casual wear, not so much for a dressy occasion. I especially like the indiglo! Outside in the evening, you know exactly what time it is.

Customer Review: Great All Around Sports Watch
This is probably my fifth Timex sports watch and I have to say it is by far the best. The major issue with previous models was a band that seemed flimsy and buttons that did not hold up and eventually wore out. This is made for battle. The case is rugged and the band is thicker and stronger than the others. The buttons are protected and function easily. I don't have to press the buttons hard. From a software point of view, it operates like the previous versions, which makes it familiar very quickly. This watch is thicker than most watches and if you wear it with a button cuff shirt, it will annoy you if the cuff is too tight. I wear it mostly for workouts and weekend activities, so it really fits into my lifestyle well. This is definately a man's watch. I don't feel I have to baby it. The indiglo seems brighter than I recall. It's great when you are out at night and can't see your watch. It is very clear with large digits. I also like the fact that replacement bands are available in case of some unfortunate mishap.

I got this watch after I joined a gym in my neighborhood. I like it so far. Looks good on the wrist and very light weight. The features are easy to understand if you play with it for a week. The start/split button gives me problems sometimes otherwise its a good buy. I thought the price in amazon was slightly higher than what i would have expected to pay for this.

Customer Review: Nice but little rough.
I have a several Timex watches- they're not expensive and very reliable. This one was a gift and probably thats the reason why I had to keep it. It looks really cool on photograph, but first touch will give you unexpected feelings. That "cool looking" strap is made from hardest material you would expect. There is no problem to add little bit of softeners to that composite and make it more friendly for our wrists - what do you think, Timex's engineers?! Other than that this is very regular watch with easy interface and nice design. After 2 months of everyday usage strap got "dirty" look. It absorbs colors or basically dirt from your clothes, gloves, anything. Find something different... It's not worth even this small money.

The watch is designed just like my previous Ironman (which was very important to me, for some reason Timex moved the buttons on most models - I operate my watch without looking at it, I didn't want to have to relearn). The vendor processed the order and shipped quickly and professionally. Package arrived in the minimum number of days for an appropriate S&H fee. Other vendors tried to trick consumers with a slightly lower product price, but jacked up the S&H so that the total price was higher.

Customer Review: subpar wristband!
While the watch part functions perfectly, the band and casing leave much to be desired. Within 5 months, the silver paint on the main watch face has flaked off and the wristband turns my wrist black. I have taken to painting the underside of the band with clear nail polish until I can buy a different watch. Don't waste your money.

I am very happy with this watch. I have had Timex watches in the past and find them to be of good quality at an affordable price. The watch is not overly big, but the face has a large display which makes it easy to read. I love the indiglo for night time viewing of the watch.

Customer Review: A good watch for the money
The Good: This watch is very fuctional with a big readout. I found it easy to use. The Bad: It's hard to read in direct light and light itself is pretty dim. My biggest gripe with this watch is the band. The little "loop" that the excess band goes into has a big notch in it that secures it to the band. That's good for keeping it in place while exercising, but in the beginning I had issues removing it. Felt like I was always going to break it. Found out if you squeeze the sides of the loop it releases the pressure and makes it easier to remove. What I would have done differently: The blue is a lighter metallic blue than I anticipated - I would buy this watch in silver if I had a "do over."

Customer Review: Basic features are good, but does not work as intended
It's been 5 months since I bought this watch from Amazon. Basic features of the watch have been really good. And let me tell you that this is my second Atlantis watch. I love Atlantis watches. But the one I bought from Amazon did not function as specified. 1. Basic features of the watch are good a. Digital time is good b. Alarm is fine 2. Second time zone, minutes section is not adjustable at all. I am able to change the hours, date and AM/PM mode, but not minutes, which sort of made this watch useless for me. 3. Watch does not have hourly chime too 4. Watch came with no instructions page for which I had to hunt in the internet to catch hold of one, but did not help much. Overall if the features work...watch is good, else, I 'd not recommend buying this watch online. May be you should go to a showroom and try and test features, see it work and then buy it. Now that i'ts been 5 months since I bought the watch I don;t know whom to contact for the missing features. I am clueless, may be I have to buy a new one and throw this away. Wasted $30.

Customer Review: Not as good as my old Casio
I'm not positive mine is the exact same model as this because mine is all black, but it is a Timex unisex 30-lap Flix Ironman and my comments should apply to all in this series. Although I'm a six-foot-tall man, I have thin wrists and can't wear a man's watch. Even this one is larger than I'd like. One of our wedding presents was his/hers gardening gloves. I wear the hers, my wife wears the his, but I digress. Sorry to say, Amazon, but you really shouldn't buy a watch online; you need to try them on to see if they will fit your wrist. I wanted it as my everyday watch to show time and date and as a stopwatch for running. It serves the first purpose well, with nice big numerals, which my middle aged eyes need. I'm happy with that part. I am disappointed in it as a stopwatch, though, and as an alarm clock/timer. The biggest difference between the Casios and the Timexes to me as a runner is that the Timex watches have the start/split button in front and stop on the side, while the Casio has the front button be stop/start. On both the front button is large and easy to push (or used to be on my old Casio, although I've heard that's not so true for the newer ones). But I find it almost impossible to push the stop button on this Timex. At first when I began using this for timing my runs I would fail to stop the watch at the end more often than I succeeded, thus losing the timing data. You can't use the split button for that because 10 seconds after you press it it reverts to the continuously running mode, so you have to memorize the split time or write it down. I want to stop the time and write down the time after I get home (driving from where I run at the park). It is so hard to stop it that I found I was twisting the bejeebers out of the band when I pressed hard enough, so I started pressing equally hard from the opposite direction (the upper left) in a pinching motion to counteract the thumb at the stop button (lower right), but that didn't work because the Set/Recall button (upper left) would always register the push first, changing it out of stopwatch mode to time set mode and thus the stop button didn't work as a stop but instead changed the time. Eventually I learned to prepare to stop it about 10 seconds before the end of the run by finding the tiny sweet spot between the mode button and the 12:00 position with one finger and placing my thumb on the stop button, then squeezing really hard when I reach the end. Even doing this sometimes it doesn't stop. This is not just my particular watch with this problem, either, because I tested several in the store when I bought an identical (except purple) one for my daughter (who specifically asked for an Ironman). They all had the really hard-to-press stop buttons. For what it's worth, she loves hers, but she's a triathlete and uses the lap features a lot, which I don't. For the alarm functions, I found them really hard to use mainly due to the Occasion mode always jumping in. If you don't use it regularly, you can think you're setting the alarm to wake you the next morning and instead it turns out you set it to ring when it's somebody's birthday or some other occasion. I find it much easier (and much louder) to use my cell phone as an alarm clock when traveling.

I am now on my 2nd one of these hr watches and I am so very pleased with them. I've been running for 9 years and competing in triathlons for 3. HR even worked under my wetsuit! $50 was a steal and I've turned on 2 friends to this watch. Very very happy. FWIW, I heard the new version of this watch has a black background which can be hard to read in low light conditions. Also, I think they've had some quality issues as well. Customer Review: Accurate, functional, and simple
After accidentally breaking my 5-yr-old heavy and bulky Polar alimeter/heart rate monitor watch, I chose the Ironman as a replacement heart rate monitor. Features I like include: size, appearance, comfort, accuracy, and functionality (both watch and chest strap). A key feature it lacks: a button lock. I hike, ski, and climb and I use the chronograph to record ascent and descent times. Too often, during outdoor recreation, I've accidentally bumped the lap button and/or start/stop/reset button. Otherwise, Timex again delivered a high-quality, functional, and reasonably priced monitor.

I have this little travel alarm clock for several years, but it has unfortunately not kept. Brand new out of the box it beeps when you click the button night light (annoying if you are traveling in hostels, where other people are trying to sleep). Then after a few months of use of INDIGLO night light to all work together. Finally I could no longer be on them all when it started resetting itself at random only one year after purchase. Too bad - it is very well designed and smooth. I loved it when working with all functions.

I have this clock to see after it in a magazine. I love the style, but after two weeks it was time to lose. When I noticed it, I thought I maybe on the light button or something wrong and reset it. A few days later, ten minutes. I'm very surprised, a Timex such a problem so quickly. I have a wind-up of twenty years ago, and it is still a licking and keeps on ticking! ;)

For years I had a wonderful analog Timex Indiglo travel clock. It was simple, durable, easy to travel with. It was also very forgiving of being accidentally knocked to the floor because invariably the stand would separate from the clock, but it never broke. I could always put it back together, using the 2 little tabs on the stand.

This new clock is bigger, has features I don't want, has switches that are hard to use and is constructed, both stand and clock, out of one piece. I can already tell that if this one falls to the floor enough times, the stand/cover will break. No little, forgiving tabs on this model!

Also, although I ordered a Timex, the one that I'm reviewing is labeled Elgin.

Ah well. I should have bought two when I realized how wonderful the old one was.

I love this watch. The color is pretty and the numbers are big so I can read the time without putting on my glasses. It's also big enough so when my wrist swells I can make it bigger. I take showers and go swimming with it on. The price is great too.

LOVE this watch - suitable for scuba

I have this watch in sort of a mid-green color, and I've beat it to death. Runs like a top, does everything I need. Plus, I'm a scuba diver and have had it at depths of up to 110 feet fairly often without problems. It really IS water resistant.

True, the watchband dies pretty quickly, but I found several places to buy a replacement for an average price of $12...one is a sports outlet with three initials in the name - the 18th letter of the alphabet, the 5th, and the ninth. I've had mine for over a year and the battery's still going, but admittedly you probably do have to take it to a jeweler to have it replaced.

Customer Review: Great Watch!

I received my Timex yesterday, and this is a great watch at a good price. It looks fantastic, very masculine, not too big, not too little. It has a solid feel but is not overly heavy on my wrist. The strap is very nice quality water resistant leather. The watch/chrono/alarm functions work fine, it just takes a little while to get used to the large second hand being stationary unless the chrono function is turned on. The alarm function is nice, and easy to set and use. There are alarm markers for both the hour and the minute, and you can set the alarm two different ways. The chrono will show up to 30 minutes total elapsed time and will reset after 4 hours. So, if you want to time something over 30 minutes, you can set the minutes or minutes and hour alarm markers at the start time in a similar manner to using a rotating bezel on a dive watch. The bezel on this watch is fixed and has the scale for mph that can be used with the chrono function to determine speed over a one mile distance. I would by this watch again, and will wear it a lot. I received the usual good service from Amazon and might just buy another version (color) of this watch.

I purchased this brand watch for my husband four+ years ago, and it finally died (unsure as to cause). After looking around, he declared that there was NO other watch on the market he'd like as a replacement. When we found that a) it was still in production and b) it was reasonably priced he was overjoyed and promptly ordered it from Amazon's marketplace.
We're really happy with this product. Long-lasting, accurate, easy to use, and durable. The compass feature is an added bonus and useful as we're avid hikers and hunters.

For the most part, I like the alarm clock. It's easily programed, doesn't have odd battery requirements. Alarm noise is annoying enough to get me moving. The 2 things I don't care for; 1 - the Indiglo feature is fine for seeing the time, but it felects badly off the not lit face plate & makes it difficult to see those details (ie, I want to change the alarm time without turning the light on and waking up my husband); 2 - the cover for the batteries comes off with very little effort, so when I'm fumbling to turn of the alarm (I'm half blind w/o my glasses) I knock the battery cover off & have to reset the whole thing. Duct Tape does seem to have served it's purpose once again.

Customer Review: Great watch with replaceable strap!
This watch is very good at doing what it says it does. The multiple alarms (3) are really useful. The watch is slightly improved for the triathlon I had in the early 90s. Although it is a digital watch, it doesn't look too ostentatious. My favorite thing about this watch is that you can replace the strap if it breaks, which is not the case on the newer sleek-style timex watches (also I don't really like the way they look).

I had another Ironman watch, a midsize that was black and grey. This fullsize one is a little different - seems to have more features and has a more flexible band. It also seems more comfortable while running. I realy like the all black with a bit of red appearance. The multi-colored watches just seem a bit less serious and maybe less 'manly'.

Customer Review: Very good, but my first one was defective.
Works very well. Nice that you can adjust compass reading to account for magnetic variation. Features seem to all work. Looks nice. Strap feels/looks good and is replaceable, too. Instructions reasonably easy to follow (except for compass directions which reference control buttons by names not clearly (if at all) shown on the diagrams). All in all a very satisfactory performer. BUT NOTE: my first watch was defective, failing several times over first 2 weeks; I returned to seller for replacement which I have received and put through a rigorous workout for past several weeks. I suggest you do the same, repeatedly testing all the functions to ensure it does not fail. The failure was seen by a sudden resetting of everything back to zero hour. That is Jan. 1, some years ago at 12:00am. Not good.

We have this timer at work. We use it to turn the water cooler/combo hot water on and off at the beginning and end of each shift. This is not your grandmother's timer. It lets you set the time to turn things on and off and when we got hit by a close thunderstorm mine froze up for a while. Once the battery ran down, however, I was able to recharge it and it worked fine. Not that's reliable if you ask me.

This is a very convenient timer for operating appliances for a certain length of time. With many timers you have to set a start and stop time, but this one just dial up how long you want the item to stay on. Then there's an "always on" and a provision where it will turn items on automatically at dusk and back off at daylight. It can be used outside and is a very useful device to have around.

When I opened the package I realized that this is definitely a woman's watch. That's fine, because I got it for my wife, but I was hoping to use it too. Then, within the first 5 minutes of having it out of the package, the battery door on the GPS unit got stuck and I broke it trying to un-stick it. I managed to rig it to work. When I took it outside to try to acquire the satellites, I found out that the light that shows if you have the satellites is not nearly bright enough to see in the sunlight. The watch is not medium sized as advertised, but pretty darn small. That's fine, but the main screen for exercising has three lines of info on it. The numbers are so small, you really have to look at it, not just glance at it like I am used to doing with other HRMs. Other than those issues, it did work well!

Customer Review: So-so software, static problems, but still useful
First, I want to say that I like my Recorder despite its flaws. It's useful because it keeps track of my mileage and heartrate, which is what I need. The Data Recorder does not communicate with the Bodylink watch--it records data directly from the GPS and HRM. Consequently, watch splits/laps will not be recorded. My advice is to download the software (free) from Timex's website. This download comes with sample data, and works without the Recorder, so that you can see all the Recorder's capabilities without spending the money up front. If you don't think the software is useful, you will not find the Recorder useful. I think the software needs work. It tracks totals and averages of many categories: time, heartrate, distance, speed, pace, etc., and graphs by day or week. It also lets you set a number of goals. However, it's not feature-rich. The software has no mechanism for creating splits/laps. As I said earlier, the Recorder doesn't record splits at all. The recorder will not allow you to mark a time for a split. Consequently, you cannot get your average pace/heartrate for intervals--you can only get an average for the entire session. The software doesn't have dedicated fields for shoes, injuries, route, or other info you might keep in your running log. You can put that info (as well as your splits) into the "Description" field. This field doesn't have word-wrap, so it's like using a typewriter. This makes the software much less useful for tracking injury causes, etc. Other gripes: limited printing (graphs only, not your activity description data), fixed window sizes, and much drilling down in the menus to download, clear, and sync the Recorder to the computer. Nevertheless, the software graphs my weekly mileage and lets me set a weekly mileage goal. It also allows me to customize my heart zones and graphs whether I've met my goals there, as well. It's better than trying to track this information manually. On to the static. Like others, I had a static problem. Even when I clipped the Data Recorder to my GPS armband and wore a sleeveless shirt to avoid static, the Recorder would break up a 6-mile run into at least a dozen separate segments. My 10-mile runs were a nightmare. Sometimes, the GPS or HRM data would lapse for 30 minutes. This was unacceptable. I didn't think I had a static problem because my Recorder would continue to function and record most of the data. I figured it out when one day I ran with the Recorder in my hand and got a single, continuous set of data for my run. The next run, I tried a tip I read in an English Runner's World forum: I wrapped the Data Recorder in a piece of anti-static plastic that came with one of my computer components. I created a small pocket with the corner of a bag. (I kept telling my wife I'd find a use for that stuff.) I put the package in the key pocket of my shorts. The result: a single, continuous set of data. Yippee! The bottom line: If you want to make sure you're meeting your mileage, activity time, or heart rate goals, and you're willing to use some workarounds, this is the device for you.

Customer Review: What a great watch!
I purchased this watch because I needed one with a chronograph, and this was the cheapest at the PX. The manual stated its life expectancy at two to three years. Five years later, and the battery is only now dying. This watch was on my wrist during rock climbing trips, parachute jumps, both deployments to Africa, both deployments to Afghanistan, and all the times in between. I don't think much more could be asked of a watch than what I have with this one.

Customer Review: Its a watch...
Nothing fancy, it tells time, it's water resistant, has an alarm, a timer and a countdown timer. I'm an electrician so I look for something that is durable and has few metal parts. This watch fits the bill just fine. I've had them before, I can get a couple of years out of it before the face is too scratched up to read it anymore. Then I get a new one.

The watch works great so far. I have owned several ironman watches before this one, and when the specs said "99 lap counter" I mistakenly thought it meant 99 lap RECALL. It only counts them, and you get the total et. Otherwise it is fine.

This timer is very easy to install and use. The push pull tabs that you set the off/on times with are very similar to a lamp timer. It serves it's purpose well and the only feature that someone might want that it doesn't have is variable daily settings, which you will only find on the much more expensive digital timers!

Overall this product rocks... waterproof, chrono, waypoints, compass, elevation, and the best feature in my opinion is the three line display with middle line in larger font and you can change which item displays larger.. i.e. i have heart rate large when working out with the heart rate monitor strapped on.... or my pace when i can get the gps to remain locked in. aboslutely no reception indoors on a treadmill (which we dont really need), but even outdoors i have much trouble trying to synch it and get it to remain synched for the duration of a workout. do not buy this if the determining product is the gps. everything else about this watch rocks!
Customer Review: Awesome Watch!
I have used Timex Ironman watches for the last 20+ years for tracking running splits while training for local 10k races, so I am used to the format. The format for the Trail Runner watch is total different due to its additional features of the GPS and Heart Rate monitor. Even with these new features, it is still easy to use. It has the ability to show you 3 different lines of realtime date that you can select from while in the Chonograph mode. You can watch heart rate, speed, distance, pace, lap time, split time, etc. what ever you desire. The middle line of the screen is larger than the top or bottom data line, so you can even toggle what data is provided in that line for better viewability while running. It comes with a bike attachment for Triathalon training so you can mount to handle bars instead of looking down at your wrist all the time. The GPS is very accurate for tracking distance even under heavy trees. If you are using the belt clip versus the arm band for the GPS module, then you may find that accuracy may vary slightly due to being covered up by your shirt while running. When I tuck in my shirt just above the belt clip on my hip, then the GPS is precisely accurate each and every time. I have not used the arm band yet, but I imagine that would solve this problem. You can hit the mode button a couple of times while running to get to the Finish mode, and the watch will predict your finish time based on how far you told the watch you run will be -- extremely helpful for hitting target times while training, trying to hit a qualifying time for a road race, or hitting a personal best or finish time for a race. The GPS module takes about 1 to 2 minutes to link up with the satellites, so you need to give it that time before you begin your run. The heart rate monitor is awesome and 100% accurate - I tested it for accuracy against another HR monitor. I also checked the speed mode on the GPS (shows MPH) against 3 cars to see how accurate, and again 100% accurate even at 50 and 60 MPH. Weight wise, the GPS module is so light even with the 1 AA battery, that you dont even notice its there. The watch itself is not any larger than some of my other large Timex Ironman watches and is also extremely light weight. I also ordered the new version of the Data Recorder (weighs as much as a ping pong ball), but I have not used it yet in the three weeks I've owned the Watch kit and Data Recorder. The info that comes with the Data Recorder shows that they have not updated the software program for you computer to be compatible with Windows Vista. I checked online at Timex.com, and they didn't show an update to the software yet to download the week that I received the Data Recorder, but it looks like a great addition to the package that I should and will start using shortly. All in all, I'm extremely pleased with this watch and how it is helping me to improve my running. I love being able to go out the door and just run until the watch tells me I've hit my half way point on distance so that I can turn around and head home. If you can afford this watch, you will not be sorry at all!!

I bought four digital Timex multiple program timers and after some months none of them work. I decided then to test this mechanical timer and so far is working nicely. It is big when compared with the digital model size. Another thing to consider is that in case of electrical break downs, the clock needs to be readjusted, which is easy to do.

I have a Bunn coffee maker which has a tank which it keeps hot. I use the timer to shut down the tank warmer (the whole coffee maker) while we're at work or asleep. I set it turn on before we wake up and before we get home from work. It does the job!

Timex L12/887/3999P04 Outdoor Countdown Timer with Photoeye & LED Purchased 8 timers for my Xmas displays. Was not able to set timer so that it would go on and off daily. Instructions on back of unit small enough to require a magnifying glass to easily read. Called the 800 number and they could not help, but said they would ask someone else and call back. No call back. Called and spoke to another representative who knew even less than myself. Returned all units and bought WalMart outdoor timers for $10.23 each and they are functioning properly. Plus I didn't need a magnifying glass to read the instructions.

Wanted a countdown timer to control my towel drying rack, thought this may work and it did. Because it has a photosensor which will make it turn on every night (after it sees light/darkness) I covered the sensor with black tape. When I want to to turn on I just cycle it through the hours to off, and then set it to the hours I want and after a short pause it clicks on.

This is a classic timer that works as you would expect--just set the current time, the start time, and the end time. It starts my crock pot which makes my steel cut oatmeal in the morning. If you have a simple operation like this, I think you will be happy. If you need to change the cycle time regularly, need battery backup, or need multiple cycle times, this isn't what you need.

I use these alot, and got this to replace a GE timer that had fried. Total junk. The "manual override" function is just "Turn the dial until light is on or off as desired." You must be freaking kidding me. I got the 15 AMP rated timer, and it's only 2 prong... WTF? You don't run 15 AMPS without ground. Dumb. As other reviewers noted, it's loud, it often doesn't even work properly. Save your money and just look for someone who has already bought one. Chances are they've already determined it stinks and have it sitting in a drawer somewhere unused. They'll give it to you happily.

I've had this little travel alarm clock for several years now, but unfortunately it hasn't held up. Brand new out of the box it would beep whenever you pressed the nightlight button (annoying if you're traveling in hostels where other people are trying to sleep). Then after a couple of months of use the INDIGLO nightlight stopped working all together. Finally I could no longer rely on it at all when it started resetting itself randomly only a year after purchase. Too bad - it's very well designed and slick. I loved using it when all the features worked.

Customer Review: Very Reliable, Very Durable
I've owned a Timex Ironman for over 2 years now. The watch has been through bad weather, a toilet drop (happily, no flush) and stepped on twice to say nothing of the bangs, bumps and inadvertent drops and survived. One night recently I was up on the roof of my house trying to do emergency repairs in the middle of a nor'easter; it was raining and blowing so hard my pockets were full of water. Like the ads say, it takes a lickin' and...well it'd LED so it doesn't "tick", but it works just fine.

I've had the Timex Body Link for 3 year and absolutely love it! Using the heart rate monitor & GPS is very simple, all you have to do is turn them on push the red display button and they start working. There are also a number of different display settings for enthusiasts to customize. The watch comes with a heart rate monitor (chest strap) and a GPS piece. The GPS comes with a arm band and belt clip accessories. This is not a watch with GPS built in like Garmin watches. Timex also sells a data recorder that works with the Body Link system, but I would not buy it again since the software that comes with it is pretty worthless. Besides, most of the information you would want to track can be stored in the watch and written down later. Pros: - Easy to get started with - 100 lap memory - Loads of different display modes - Reasonably small compared to other GPS watches - Great price - Heart rate recovery timer Cons: - GPS needs a lot of "open" sky to work properly, if you plan on running on forest trails or in the city with a lot of high rise buildings the GPS can't lock on to enough satellites.

This is one awesome man's watch! It easily sync's with your computer, it has so many useful features for everyday use (multiple alarms, multiple count-down timers, multiple time zones, and the ability to store phone numbers or other personal information), and it looks great on my wrist! My first one was lost, and I was very happy to find this replacement at Amazon.

This watch is great and works very well as an ipod controller. Being a timex, it's of course a reliable watch and I love the pink. It's also not a tiny watch, which I really appreciate. I don't like the tiny ones and I'd say this is almost larger than midsize, which is great. Easily controls the ipod and looks very stylish. I would highly recommend it!

I got this for my 17 year old and she loves it. At first I could tell she was not sure about this watch thing. But after a day of useing it she was hooked. Customer Review: Great product for the price
I bought this watch in June to help me with a running program that required a heart rate monitor. After reading reviews on Amazon for a number of watches, I bought this one and have been thrilled with it -- so much so that I bought one for my wife and talked my sister into buying one as well as she trains for a 10 mile race. This one does all of the basic functions that you want in a heart rate monitor -- tracking your heart rate with minimums and maximums, giving you 6 heart rate zones to choose from, warning you when you are outside of your target zone, etc. I used it within hours of unpacking the box. What it doesn't do is allow you to download your workout onto a computer after you are done, and it doesn't really have a good interval function that automatically takes you through a cycle of intervals -- you can get both of those functions on other watches, but for the price this one is does all of the basic stuff at a very good rate. I've lost 10 pounds in six weeks just using this watch, so I'd highly recommend it.
Customer Review: Disappointed - might have been good but not water resistant
I was looking forward to using this for running. I liked the combination of features, the style, ease of use. I jumped in the pool after my second run with it. When I got out there was water in the crystal. I hadn't pushed any buttons while in the pool and was never more than a couple feet under. My previous Timex's never had this problem.

Customer Review: A BEST BUY SPORTS WATCH !!!
This Timex Ironman Triathlon is a great sports watch. It is light yet durable with the stainless steal case. The band is great and breathable. Its got water resistance to 100m. That means with it's breathable rubber strap, you can go swimming, running, biking, pretty much anything but diving with this thing. Come-on how many of us actually do dive to 200m? We sit by the pool or beach and maybe go on a boat....this watch will cover it plus some. This style is much better than the black faced digital style watches that are out there now. I find the black faced digital are cooller looking and more trendy with Freestyle, Guess, and Kenneth Cole all seller them but from experience, the black face digital is harder to read and you need the backlight on much more often compared to the grey back ground digitals. This has the easier to read grey dial. The Amazon price for this otherwise expensive digital watch is amazing. This same watch....the very same one is priced at Dicks Sporting Goods for about $. Sports Authority sells this watch for $ and even Target has this watch marked to sell at $. Amazon has the best prices for a lot of goods but this is by far the best deal I have found on Amazon in a while. This is a steal especially if you have Amazon Prime and can get the free shipping.

Customer Review: Great Sports Watch
If you work out or just need a second watch to beat around in, then this is the one for you. I also owned its predecessor, which was also a great watch but a bit larger. This one is sleeker without giving up features. I like the velcro band. The band is changeable, which is a plus after a couple years of use. You can't go wrong with this watch at this price.

Customer Review: Good features - rubbish band
I used this watch for a few months for triathlon training and found that the velcro band deteriorated very quickly and lost its stick. The Ironman logos wore off and the watch came off in the surf one day while ocean swimming. I caught it just in time but then it came off again the other day at Bondi Beach and now is gone forever. Such a shame, I really liked the functions of the watch and for the price was great value (even with postage to Australia). I read some reviews that said the similar watch with the composite band is also pretty flimsy. I am no ironman, but neither is this watch I'm afraid. That said, I must be either a sucker or loyal. I will probably buy another one and then try and sew a better piece of velcro on. I doubt Timex would give me another.
